‘FIGHT THE FAT!’
JWT SHANGHAI
Our dear friends at Shotopop asked us to help them direct and produce a fantastic script from JWT Shanghai. In this nod to Manga and Japanese anime, we were asked to recreate an immense samurai battle, against an on-rushing pig horde. From our point of view, the challenge was to generate a dynamic animation style, befitting of the stunning artwork and epic struggle scene at hand.

We were provided with the key character and background art from our friends at Shotopop. The challenge came from animating this detailed artwork in a fluid and action-packed way. To achieve this, we combined several different methods of animation, including traditional frame by frame animation, to create the smoke and liquid effects and 3D animation, to enhance certain shots, all composited together to give the feeling of an epic fantasy battle.
